Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Balls
These no-bake chocolate peanut butter protein balls are SO easy to make and use just 6 ingredients that you probably already have at home! They make the perfect on-the-go breakfast or snack!
This is a great treat or snack recipe that the entire family will enjoy. They are great for children or adults, and the protein helps keep you full longer! I love to grab these as I’m heading out the door in a hurry as a quick breakfast/snack in the car. They also make the perfect snack for road trips with the family. Just toss them in a zip lock bag or tupperware container and you’re good to go! They don’t have any dairy, so they don’t have to be refrigerated (although I like them best when they are cold).
Ingredients:
Old fashioned oats – any brand is fine, but I find that old fashioned work the best! The steel cut just end up too tough to chew in my opinion.
Peanut Butter – The brand you use is completely up to you, but I highly recommend using Creamy peanut butter (just so the ratios turn out correct). If you are going to use crunchy, just add some extra. You can also use natural or no sugar added.
Mini Chocolate Chips – this is the item that I like to switch up a bit. In this recipe, I used the Ghirardelli mini semi-sweet chocolate chips. They add the perfect little bit of crunch to the protein balls. You can use coconut flakes, m&ms, nuts, etc!
Flax Seed – Flax seeds or Chia seeds are a great addition to this recipe! They both offer SO many health & nutrition benefits and you can’t taste them at all!
Chocolate Protein Powder – any brand that you have on hand will work fine
Honey
I’ve made lots no bake protein ball recipes over the years, and there are SO many options for ingredients and mix-ins, but I continuously come back to this one for the added protein and delicious peanut butter chocolate flavor!
How to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Balls
Add all of your ingredients to a large mixing bowl or stand mixer if you have one. Stir until the mixture is fully combined (it will be a thick, doughy consistency).
Use a cookie scoop to add the dough to a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Place the cookie sheet in the fridge for 15-20 minutes, until slightly firm.
Roll into nice round ball shapes.
Transfer the chocolate peanut butter protein balls to an airtight container or bag, and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
