I will admit that I was a bit skeptical when I heard that a baking soda bath could turn biscuit dough into pretzel bites… I love pretzel bites, and I didn’t think these would turn out anything like actual pretzels. I was wrong! The baking soda bath gives the pretzel bites the coating AND flavor of real soft pretzels.

Easy Pretzel Bites Ingredients

This recipe just uses 4 simple ingredients.

How to make Easy Pretzel Bites

This recipe is surprisingly easy! You’ll start by rolling each individual biscuit into a log shape and cut each log into 4-5 bite size pieces. Boil a large pot of water and add in 1/4 cup of baking soda. Once boiling, you are going to add the dough bites. TIP: I boil them in batches so that you don’t have too many in at one time. You will boil for 15-20 seconds on one side and then flip them over to boil another 15-20 seconds on the other side.

After the baking soda bath, remove with a slotted spoon and add to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. The dough bites will be slightly slimy, but trust the process! Brush the bites with egg wash and sprinkle on some coarse salt. Bake in the oven at 425 for 15 minutes. They will turn out nice and brown!
