Jump to Recipe

I have been enjoying this monkey bread recipe for decades since my mom and grandmother would make it for me as a child, so I can’t take credit for it. I will say, however, that it has been passed down generation after generation as the perfect holiday breakfast recipe because it is THAT GOOD. There is something magical about the butter and brown sugar mixture that creates a caramelized candy glaze over top of the cinnamon sugar coated biscuit pieces. It tastes better than it looks if that’s even possible!

Monkey Bread Recipe Ingredients

How to Make Monkey Bread

  1. Open 2 cans of refrigerated biscuits and cut each biscuit into 4 pieces using a knife or pizza cutter
  2. Add the biscuit pieces to a large Ziploc bag.
  3. Pour in sugar and cinnamon into bag and shake until biscuits are fully coated
  4. Dump the biscuit pieces into a greased bundt pan
  5. In a small mixing bowl, mix together 1 stick of melted butter and 3/4 cup of brown sugar
  6. Pour that mixture evenly over the biscuits
  7. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes, until lightly browned
  8. Let it cool for 30 minutes
  9. Flip over and serve!

Tip: You can also make your melted butter & brown sugar mixture in a sauce pan or skillet before adding to the bundt pan. Both ways work great, but microwaving is faster!
